Church and School
Chamberlain discusses an issue still controversial today, should Christianity be taught in public schools.
Understand me, I am not arguing for an established religion - a state-church - a state ruled by the church;
nor for an enforced study of Christian doctrine in the sense of dogma in our schools.
That perhaps would not be respecting fairly freedom of conscience and of worship. What I mean to say is, that the study
of the broad truths of Christianity would not be unreasonable nor oppressive for the youth of a Christian country.
