This is a full length book written by Chamberlain. He used many of his speeches as a starting point for many of his chapters, sometimes copying portions of them word for word.
Chamberlain's speeches and writings after the turn of the century reflected more and more on the thinning numbers of veterans left. The title here has a double meaning, the Armies passing in parade in the last review, and the passing away of many old soldiers from both sides by the turn of the century.     This book was at the publisher when Chamberlain himself passed and so was published with the help of his children.
